Online Marketing Tips for Real Estate Agents – 2 Must-Have Ingredients for Online Marketing Success

You’re a real estate agent who wants more clients. And you’re wondering if doing more marketing online might help. Read on to find out the answer.

The short answer is: Yes. It will help you connect with more leads, and if you do all the right online marketing things, you’ll be able to turn quite a few of those leads into clients.

In order to do that, though, you’ll need to get a number of things in place. And the very first of these are the following two because they will help you get leads and build relationships with them:

1) You’ll need an autoresponder

An auto-what? It is a data base complete with an automated emailing system that allows you to gather lists of prospects and follow up with them — on autopilot.

All you have to do is load up a set of emails and schedule them to go out in pre-programmed intervals, and they’ll land in your prospects’ inboxes.

Now how to get them to open them is a whole other story…

2) You need a way for your prospects to sign up

You’ll need a way for your prospects to get onto your mailing list. There are two parts to this:

a) An opt-in form

First, you’ll need to provide a way for them to opt in. Your autoresponder helps you to generate the form for you, and all you basically have to do is copy and paste it into your website.

Make sure it’s in a strategic spot, preferably front and center, or at least at the top, either on the right or left side. Or both, if you have different forms for buyers and sellers (though you might want to consider create a different site for each group).

b) A compelling reason for them to opt in

Just because you have an opt-in form at the ready doesn’t mean anyone will want to sign up. You need to give them a reason to do so.

And no, “free” consultations and “free” newsletters rarely do the trick anymore. People have gotten wise to those “free” consultations, which are basically sales calls in disguise.

And as far as those newsletters are concerned… most people get far more email than they know what to do with. So they’re not eager to sign up for more.

So what can you do to get them to sign up for your newsletter?

You bribe them. Seriously. Of course, it’s an “ethical” bribe — you provide them something of value that they will find helpful in exchange for their email address and permission to email them.
